RP GAMES The derelict City of New Glasgow Chapter 1: A station in space

"I got this chainsaw that I found, but it ain't got no juice. I'd think it could rip through the bars, but not sure how tbat'd person would like us bustin' shit up in here."

I'm going to try and trace the call from the unknown crewman back to its source, and see if I can obtain admin control over his local systems, maybe open some doors between us and him. If I can, I'll offer a zero-clearance invite into the TacNet, allowing him to see things we specifically want to share with him. If I can get access to the security feed, I'll post that on TacNet as well.
"Hello there, unidentified human survivor, my name is Watson and I'm the tech specialist. I'm going to try and connect you to the group's network wirelessly. If you have a wireless interface, look for invites now. They may appear as security warnings on older systems. If you have basic entoptic overlays you should see if in front of your eyes. If you don't have an overlay, look at your nearest security monitor. There may be some flickering before I find a workaround."
You manage to find his location in the Lab. You manage to get access to the main door of his Lab, and realize that it is connected to corridors with vacuum.
While looking through other access-points you also find a screen that you can take hold of. You will be able to broadcast video to it, but no sound.

I look at the metal bars blocking our way, realizing I didn't have the strength to do anything about them.
While I waited for someone to do react, I decided to move into the storage room, hoping to find something useful inside.

You move into the storage room and the door closes directly behind you. There are 2 more of the androids you have seen before, but they are in an even worse state than the one before and look like they are about to fall apart any moment. One of them notices you and quickly runs toward you.

((Euchale: roll to see if Milly survives (high means yes)

Euchale rolled 11!))

Panicking, I open fire at the android rushing towards me. Unfortunately, only one of my shots makes contact but wasn't enough to stop it from reaching me. Before I could react, the android tackled me onto the floor.

The last thing I remember were its red, glowy eyes as it choked the life out of me. I kicked and tried to scream "help," but all I could hear was a slightly audible welp. The room slowly darkened around me. I clasped at its wrists, hoping to pry them away from my neck.

After the darkness, all I could see was light.

At response to the gunfire, I quickly try to insert the battery to the chainsaw while running to Rolfe's location.

"Damnit Rolfe didn't we just say how you shouldn't go off on yer own?!?'"

I try busting through the bars with the chainsaw as quickly as I can to Rolfe's aid.

even more silly rolling for Bruce to see if he breaks through fast enough to save you

Euchale rolled 10!

Bruce starts to cut through the door with his chainsaw and sparks fly everywhere. As soon as he penetrates the door the chainsaw gets rammed inside and he feels that he has hit flesh. Hoping it was the right person you continue on cutting the door open so you can see what you have done.
Once you've cut a hole big enough to see through you first spot a puddle of flesh on the ground far away from the door. The first shot Rolfe took must have penetrated it's target and taken down the other.
You look down and what you have feared comes true. You have penetrated the space suit of Rolfe and he has been covered in Android bits.
If you react fast, you might still be able to save him.

tr1age a timer appears on your screen that reads 50

((The day I wake up super early, someone gets chainsawed, ha))

I holster my sidearm and kneel beside Rolfe. Dammitdammitdammit.

"Rolfe! What do I do?"

There're still blips of life signs in my HUD, but no response from the man. I use two hands to apply pressure to his wound and cover the rip in his suit. I desperately hope it's enough but I know it isn't helping. I can't remember the steps to take. ((Do I roll against my Procedures and Medicine?))

"Brutus, do you have a quick triage for this?"

((I have a 1 in medicine but I have no actual supplies on me. Euchale will have to guide a little))

"GOD FUCKING DAMMIT!"

I quickly try to search Rolfe for any medical supplies I can use to treat him, he usually has the proper gear for this kinda thing.

I cautiously step over to where Brutus and Buck are attempting to provide first aid. I look and see if there's anything I can do that isn't already being done (Medicine 1).

"I can precision cauterise blood vessels with this thing." I hold up the plasma cutter, adjusting the beam to it's finest setting, "But that won't stabilise him, just stop the bleed-out. We'll need to get him to a medical facility within the hour."

"Medical on the ship is the only option then? Anyone remember seeing it on any of the maps?

Mr. Eye in the Sky! Can you guide us toward a med bay? Do you know how to fix this?!"

All three of you attempt to stop the bleeding and give your best to seal the space suit. Looking through the items Rolfe has on him Brutus finds the first aid gel and tries his best to use it to seal all of the wounds, which he successfully does. Buck fumbles around with the shield emitter Rolfe has on him, thinking that turning it on might keep the air sealed in. Sadly he is incapable of doing so. Watson tries to help, but doesn´t quite know what to do, so he just stands there and watches.
Rolfe opens his eyes one last time and looks around to see his friends standing above him. He realizes that walking into side corridors without the backup of his friends is not a good idea as he slowly suffocates due to lack of oxygen. As the life drains off him, he starts to smile and closes his eyes.
# All that is left at the end of life is sadness. #

(Brutus receives one point in Medicine)

I shrug. We'll restore him from backup when we get back, or we'll all wake up with him after we all die. It wouldn't be the first time.

"Harvest his stack and keep moving." (emergency brain backup implant standard in all bodies)

Once Rolfe fades, I immediately start looking around for anymore of the damn cyborg shitbags to bust up with the chainsaw. I also glance at my power % on the battery pack is left.

"Stick together. I'd rather we come and finish what we set out for once rather than bail with nothing. Someone grab the remaining supplied Rolfe had so we can give them to him when we bring him back."

((I also COMPLETELY forgot we can restore people back from our saved info. Huzzah future technology!"

"Yeah, I'll get to it. No eyeball comments from anyone, 'k?"

I scavenge Rolfe's stuff, putting it into a smart plastic sack that I pull out of my suit. I leave it on the ground for anyone to browse while I work on the corpse.

Taking the helmet off the suit I turn the body over and make an incision at the base of the skull. I'm not too careful with the procedure as the Stack implant is almost impossible to damage unintentionally. I do put a bag around the head though, as the grape-sized metallic implant is prone to popping out and skidding around.

It's not that I'm not squeamish or detached...but this is an primate body I'm butchering.

Once I'm done I'll stand up, pick up the clear plastic sack, and cover Brutus as he advances.

You look around in the room and see that what the voice in the sky has said is true, this is indeed a storage room. Which is good for you as you find 5 more of the energy cells(at 11% just like the other one) for your chainsaw. You didn't use too much of your energy yet, so it should be enough to finish cutting through the metal bars (you are down to 9 from 11).

You manage to recover:

Key-Card OB1

You manage to retrieve the implant, but your psyche takes a hit and you feel like you have a hard time concentrating. You follow Bruce through the room and don't find anything particularly useful.

Distracted, I decide to let my other self take over physical controls, sacrificing my hacking attempts in favour of self-preservation.
