RP GAMES The derelict City of New Glasgow Chapter 1: A station in space

Only being able to hear in between the static, and seeing one member of the group looking around while the other was ripping through a body of some sort, they seemed less than friendly. Clearing my throat and much more assertive I said again into the mic, "Identify yourself!"

After that, I start going through the memory chip for logon details to networks, followed by trying to figure out the circumstances around his initial sleep.

You search for logon details, and you can find are his personal login details:
Name: Brendon Oskar
Username: !cust.brendon
Password: B4nth4
He also had access codes for some kind of repair drone station in the engineering bay.

He put himself to sleep because he knew that his mods are botched and his only chance of survival would be somebody with a better understanding than him coming and fixing it. He set the capsule to wake him up as soon as somebody enters the station.
You have heard of mental problems that can rise from being in stasis too long, but you would need an expert for more information on this.

((BTW, I gave Rolfe and Buck +1 in Ranged Combat and fixed the spreadsheets. Watson gets a point in medicine, as his other skills are already at 3))

"We got security cards and logins people. And I'm putting Brendon's memories LIVE on TacNet! Check your HUD for details." I unfocus my eyes for a moment as my HUD tries to connect to the bot:

Mental actions:
Step one - back up the memory chip to a spare in case it's already degrading with use.
Step two - I'll set the memory file to play random clips and allow anyone in the team to look in on - in case anyone sees something interesting. Sound is at 5% unless actively watching. Sections can be skipped or continued by user command.
Step three - log in to the system and see what Brendon had access to

Physical actions:
Boot up the repair drone if it has power, run diagnostics.
If it doesn't have power, add a context sensitive marker to the group map, showing the drone and the login details.

Quick question, does the internal timestamp on these memory files match the ones on the main systems - and if so, were they synchronised with each other?

((but that breaks the immersion and one post a day rule!))
((I stated at the beginning that talking and combat might take place in the chat, because these are difficult to resolve on a day to day basis))

((I will again wait for more replies before I resolve it))

Rolfe: "Hello. We're just a group of people that found this space station. It looked uninhabited. Who are you?"

(Unknown i.e. tr1age):
Oddly enough the calm demeanor of this member of the group contrasts that of the one tearing through a robotic body limb by limb.

Unsure what to make of it, "Where are you all from and why are you here?"

Still hesitant to reveal he himself doesn't know why he is here or where he is from. Come to think of it... He can't even remember his name.

Rolfe: "Okay. I'll start us off, then. My name is Rolfe Cunningham. I'm a physician by training but am currently exploring the galaxy with my friends. My colleagues are Buck, Brutus, and Watson. We have an additional member who is not currently with us on this space station.

We were hoping you could possibly help us understand what this place is? There is limited power and we were under the assumption this was abandoned."

Buck: "I don't believe in you, ghost!"

Rolfe: "You'll have to excuse my friend. You see, us humans can sometimes be flawed in that we fear the unknown. As of right now, you are just a voice without a body, which makes some of us uncomfortable."

"Perhaps you can start by telling us your name?"

Buck: (To self) I knew this place was haunted." /shivers

(Unknown): Goes to press the button but hesitates...

"My name.." Should I tell them? I look around the room for any clues before responding. I look at the broken glass pod I was in there is something on the metal an etching. I try to make it out touching it to clear it off even though it is almost impossible.

Rolfe: Sensing the hesitation, I decided to continue speaking.

"I apologize if we appear hostile. Our earlier encounter was self defense, since my friend was attacked first. We have no intention of causing harm."

"That's ok if you don't want to tell us who you are. Do you need help? I admit we are somewhat finding our way around here, so you may need to direct us."

Brutus: "Hey, I'm a bit hostile over here! This fucking... Thing just jumped me out of nowhere! Hey you, are there anymore of these?!"

((Hotblooded~))

(Unknown): Project Wave Well... that isn't ambiguous, I think to myself. Fuck it, I will just let them know what is up. It seems like they are as much in the dark about all of this as I am.

"Hey, so, are you the rescue team? Because I seem to be a bit... well trapped up here."

Looking around again and seeing no exit. "Can't really figure out how I got here, but when I woke up I saw the comotion on the monitors between all of you and just wasn't sure if you were here to kill me, the reason it seems like the ship has gone to shit, or part of the crew..." pauses for a moment and decides to go all in

"Can you help me get out of here?"

Buck: "What percentage human are you? And do you promise not to possess me?"

(Unknown): Goes to hit the button to respond, but figures he better not, these are not even questions worth the air time.

((the control freak in me is dying right now. I'm just going to make an assumption so we can move on))

"Well, regardless of whether or not we choose to help, we are going to need power. Shall we keep moving? Perhaps our mysterious friend will decide to give us more information later."

I look up, assuming the person behind the voice heard what I just said. I place the keycard I grabbed from Watson into my bag and motioned towards the cyborg.

"I hope you found something interesting in there, Watson. We may need that information later."

I start moving towards the front of the group, hoping that everyone else will follow so we can get to the power core and figure out what's going on.

Quick question, does the internal timestamp on these memory files match the ones on the main systems - and if so, were they synchronised with each other?

Regarding step one, you can see that data rot has already begun, so there are quite a few errors.
Regarding step two, everybody roll. If you haven't rolled by tomorrow, I will do the roll for you. You can see that his main tasks on the station were cleaning up behind people.
Regarding step three: You log into the system and see that Brendon only has access to all of the common areas his home and the kitchen.

The repair drone is out of power, but it is located near where you expect the power generator to be.

The oldest timestamp predates the main system files by 20 years, the newest ends roughly 100 years after where the main system seems stuck. They are not synchronized.

I start moving towards the front of the group, hoping that everyone else will follow so we can get to the power core and figure out what's going on.

As you walk along the corridor you manage to get the others to follow you. As you come closer to the power core, you run into a broken down section of the corridor and several metal bars that block the way.
To the left of you is a door to what looks like a small storage room. You could also walk back a little bit and go through a hatch labeled Air Treatment Facility.

tr1age as per usual you get your information via PM, so you can decide what to do with it.

I follow the people on the station looking at the monitors and slowly manage to understand the order the monitors are in.
Judging from where they are the easiest way would be to simply cut through the metal bars, as the way behind it is free. I have noticed one of them carrying a saw on his back, that should suffice.
The storage room to the left of them is a dead end, and contains 2 of the hybrids that previously attacked them, but also a lot of power cells.

I relay this info over the loudspeaker, hoping for the best since these people don't seem the brightest when it comes to communication with their extremely long pauses between any sort of coherent thought completion. One of them just completely aloof to the idea of me talking at all.

You relay this info over the loudspeaker
((Who is you? You are alone in your lab, you cannot tell somebody else to do it for you.))

Step two - I'll set the memory file to play random clips and allow anyone in the team to look in on - in case anyone sees something interesting. Sound is at 5% unless actively watching. Sections can be skipped or continued by user command.

Both Buck and Rolfe cannot quite concentrate on the information due to being too distracted by the dark environment.
Brutus finds out that Brendon has a secret gun cache hidden in his private quarters.
Watson follows it and finds out where Brendon bought these guns from and it was a dealer on this station. He makes a mental ping on the map near the flight station, in hopes of figuring out where the storage of this dealer might have been.

((roll to slip and fall since I have no shoes on, onto a rusty lumbar in the floor of this broken down ship with a slow and agonizing death, while sticking the button on the loudspeaker for everyone to hear for my last days of life))

"Well, lets just keep moving forward. Restoring power is still our priority if we want to open up this place."

I'm going to try and trace the call from the unknown crewman back to its source, and see if I can obtain admin control over his local systems, maybe open some doors between us and him. If I can, I'll offer a zero-clearance invite into the TacNet, allowing him to see things we specifically want to share with him. If I can get access to the security feed, I'll post that on TacNet as well.

"Hello there, unidentified human survivor, my name is Watson and I'm the tech specialist. I'm going to try and connect you to the group's network wirelessly. If you have a wireless interface, look for invites now. They may appear as security warnings on older systems. If you have basic entoptic overlays you should see if in front of your eyes. If you don't have an overlay, look at your nearest security monitor. There may be some flickering before I find a workaround."

Secure group message:
"Are we going to tell this guy we're here to salvage or not?"

((Still lurking. Just finished a rough project. Don't give up on me y'all.))

Secure reply to the group: "No, let's not share any additional information, yet. I'm not convinced either party has complete confidence in the other's true intentions."

I look at the metal bars blocking our way, realizing I didn't have the strength to do anything about them.

"Do one of you stronger ones want to tackle these bars? Otherwise, I think we have to find a way around."

While I waited for someone to do react, I decided to move into the storage room, hoping to find something useful inside.
